About Us

Our Background

We are 3 dedicated individuals, two physical therapist and an engineer, who came together with a common goal to improve the quality of life of individuals with disabilities. We developed the Hydraulic Walker with that idea in our minds and passion in our hearts. Our first prototype, designed in 2014, was awarded first place in the UMass Lowell Difference Maker prototype challenge. Later in 2015, after our second prototype was made, we took first place in the UMass Lowell Difference Maker Idea Challenge. Since then, we have continued our efforts to refine our product. See below for photos and videos of the Hydraulically Adjustable Walker!

Versatility of the Hydraulic Walker

We have designed our walker to be used both conventionally on flat ground and conveniently on stairs. For stair use, the hydraulically adjustable walker has 2 modes. It is designed to negotiate stairs both forwards and sideways, with it's unique 3 valve system. The walker is also foldable for easy transport. See our walker in use below!

Testimonials

“In 32 years of clinical practice this is one of the most innovative medical products that I have ever seen. The biggest obstacle for patients returning home from a hospital stay, that require a walker, is how to negotiate stairs. Many are unable to use crutches due to balance issues or general weakness. The hydraulic walker will enable those patients to safely use stairs and enjoy a higher level of functional mobility”.

Skip Philbrook, PT and Director of Rehab Services at WCGH.

“ I don’t see anything else needed except….a Gatlin Gun, and a fishing rod holder.”

David Orsmond DPT WCGH

“ I can see that this device will be able to help my patients out immediately.”

Moriah Grant - OT WCGH
